What Is Viator’s Cancellation Policy?

Every travel activity that you can book on Viator.com comes with one of three cancellation policies. If the activity has a free cancellation policy, then you can receive a full refund if you make your cancellation request more than 24 hours before your activity's scheduled starting time. If your activity has Viator's moderate cancellation policy, then you have until 96 hours before the activity's start time to request a cancellation for a full refund. Lastly, activities with a strict cancellation policy must be canceled at least one full week in advance for you to receive a full refund.

Does Viator Offer a Price Match Guarantee?

If you find a better price on tickets for any travel activity offered on Viator.com after you complete your booking, then Viator will send you a refund for the difference. In order to qualify for the Lowest Price Guarantee, the details of the activity that has the lower price must be exactly the same as the activity that you booked.

Viator Tour Booking and Payment Policy

Booking a tour on Viator is free of charge. No booking fees will be collected. The tour guide takes a 20% deposit as payment for the time slot. The 20% tour guide rate is usually rounded off to the nearest amount. Depending on the currency the tour guide uses, the minimum deposit is either €1 or $1.50. The remaining balance is paid in cash to the tour guide on the day of the tour. The amount outlined on the booking confirmation notice (emailed to you) is the legal amount due to the tour guide. Payment can be in euros, US dollars, or local currency.

Viator Cancellation and Refund Policy

Booking cancellations on Viator are allowed up to 24 hours before the confirmed booking time. Follow the instructions here to cancel or amend your booking details. Cancellations from the tourist's end will void the booking, and the deposit is non-refundable. For cancellations at the tour guide's end, the deposit will be 100% refundable.
